Memorial for Janet "Grail" Rubin - Gibbons Librarian.

March 18 2022

We are pleased to have received a new piece of furniture for our children's area.

The couch and plaque was purchased in memory of Janet "Grail" Rubin who served the Town of Gibbons as Librarian for 25 years.

Grail was part of the community for over 40 years. She started volunteering at the Gibbons Library when it was located in the Fire Hall. Several years later she became the Librarian.

She loved interacting with the community, providing story time to the children, and delivering books to seniors.

Grail was an integral part of relocating the Library to the Town Office and later planning the new space and relocating to the Gibbons Cultural Centre, all while expanding the Library's collection and working with partner libraries to provide province-wide access to Library resources.

She remained the Gibbons Librarian until her retirement and continued her love of reading until her passing.

Funding for this project came from a combination of funds provided by Grail's family and friends, the Library's annual book sale, and the Town of Gibbons Community Grant. We are grateful for the support of all contributors to this addition to the Library space.
