Library Re-opening!

March 4 2021

Re-Opening

With the province moving into Phase 2 of its re-opening plan, it has been announced that Libraries will be permitted to re-open.

The Gibbons Public Library will re-open to in-person services on Monday 8 March.

We will be maintaining our present schedule of Monday - Friday, 11 am - 4 pm until further notice.

Curbside Pickup

We will continue to provide curbside pickup for Library materials for those who do not want to enter the Library premise.

To use curbside pickup:

  • Place requests via tracpac.ab.ca, or use the new TRACpac app on your tablet or smartphone.
  • Email your request to librarian@gibbonslibrary.ab.ca.
  • Call the Library between the hours of 11am - 4pm Monday - Friday at 780-923-2004.

Once your items are ready, call the Library to arrange a time for pickup. Your items will be brought out and placed on a cart in the lobby of the GCC.

Computers

Public computers will remain accessible. We ask that you limit your use to approximately 30 minutes and to essential business.

Computers and furniture will be sanitized after each use.

Preventative Measures

Please abide by all current AHS recommendations when using the Library. This includes the use of hand sanitizer and wearing a mask when entering the GCC/Library premise.

Sanitizer and masks will be available.

Quarantine of Library Materials

Returned Library materials will be checked in upon arrival, but will be put aside for 72 hours before re-shelving.
